1. About Pocket Joey

Pocket Joey helps parents teach children positive saving habits through simple, fun tools. The app is intended to be used by parents and children together, with the parent managing all accounts and supervising child use.

Pocket Joey is provided for educational purposes only. It is not financial advice.

2. Eligibility & Parent Responsibility

To use Pocket Joey:

• You must be a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over.

• You must directly supervise any child who uses the app.

• Children must only use the app through the parent’s account.

• You agree to provide accurate information.

You are responsible for:

• Managing the account

• Monitoring your child’s activity

• Ensuring your device and login remain secure

Pocket Joey does not create independent child accounts.

3. Accounts and Access

3.1 Anonymous Use

You may use Pocket Joey without creating an account. Anonymous mode allows one child profile and one savings goal. Child name and date of birth are still stored in our backend to enable core app features.

3.2 Registered Accounts

Parents may create a free account using email and password. Registered accounts support multiple children.

You agree to:

• Maintain the confidentiality of your login

• Notify us if you suspect unauthorised access

• Use the app only for personal, non-commercial purposes

We may suspend or remove an account if we believe it violates these Terms or poses a security risk.

4. Educational Use Only (No Financial Advice)

Pocket Joey provides general educational tools for families.
The app does not:

• Provide financial, investment, or legal advice

• Manage real money

• Process payments

• Give recommendations about financial products

You are responsible for all real-world financial decisions made outside the app.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Misuse the app

• Attempt to access our systems without permission

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to copy the app

• Upload harmful content or interfere with app function

• Use the app for commercial purposes

• Provide false information about a child or parent account

We may take action, including termination of access, if these rules are violated.

6. Data Handling & Privacy

Your use of Pocket Joey is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains:

• What data we collect

• How it is stored

• How parents can access or delete data

• How analytics are used

• Children’s privacy protections

By using the app, you acknowledge that all child information is provided and controlled by the parent.

7. Deletion of Accounts and Child Profiles

Parents may request the deletion of:

• Their entire account

• Any child profile

• All associated data

All deletions are handled manually for safety and verification.

Once deleted:

• Your data cannot be recovered

• You may lose access to app features that require an account

8. App Availability

We aim to keep Pocket Joey available and running smoothly, but:

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted service

• We may update, change, or discontinue parts of the app at any time

• Features may change as we improve the product

We are not responsible for downtime, data loss, or interruptions outside our reasonable control.

9. Intellectual Property

All content in Pocket Joey—including graphics, the Joey mascot, text, UI design, and code—is owned by Pocket Joey.

You may not copy, distribute, or reuse any part of the app without written permission.

10. Third-Party Services

Pocket Joey uses trusted third parties for core functionality, such as:

• Backend hosting

• Analytics (Mixpanel – usage only, no child data shared)

These providers follow strong privacy and security standards.
No advertising networks or tracking services are used.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Pocket Joey is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We do not guarantee:

• That the app will be error-free

• That features will meet your needs

• That the service will be available at all times

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim any warranties or representations about the app.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Australian law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

• We are not liable for financial decisions or losses occurring outside the app

• We are not responsible for misuse of the app or information you choose to enter

Your use of the app is at your own discretion and risk.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect improvements, legal requirements, or new features.

If we make significant changes, we will:
