Mar, 2026: AFREL’s first plasma test was successfully completed thanks to the efforts of Tae Young, Hye Seong, and Seo Hyeong, with assistance from Sungho Lee.

from Jan to Feb, 2026: During the winter break, several improvements were made to the experimental environment, including; replacing fume hood, relocating equipment, setting a new gas storage cabinet and high-pressure air supply, relocating optical instruments, and checking gas leak for safety. We believe that this might be a temporary one step back to take two or even more steps forward!
Feb, 2026: The wrap-up seminar for winter vacation was held.
Jan, 2026: Sechul visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University to discuss collaborative burner experiments and organize a joint seminar. We sincerely appreciate Prof. Fei Qi, Prof. Xia, Prof. Mardani, Prof. Wang, Prof. Mingming and Prof. Dong for their warm hospitality.
Jan, 2026: Sechul was invited to serve as an advisory committee member for the SAF research planning project led by Prof. Hwasup Song.
Jan, 2026: Nayeon and Hojin joined AFREL as undergraduate lab interns.

Dec, 2025: Sechul's son (Sejun) visited AFREL and cheer up his father for his work throughout this year.

Dec, 2025: Sechul attended the NEXT CONVERGENCE (미래융합포럼) held by Ministry of Science and ICT and had a presentation about 미융파 project.
Nov, 2025: Yongjin attended X-CORPS Fesitval (실전문제연구단) and got 장려상. Congrats!
Nov, 2025: Hanyoung, Hobin, Doyeon, Hanyoung, and Sechul attended KOSCO fall conference 2025 and had two oral presentations (Hobin and Hanyoung) and took a session chair role (Sechul).
We also had a great dinner with Advenger Lab. from CNU!

Oct, 2025: Sechul joined the e-fuel (carbon-neutral fuel) policy roadmap project led by Prof. Bae and FTP Lab. from KAIST.
Sep, 2025: The ISTP-35 was held in Busan, where Sechul took a role of secretary general. Hanyoung gave a poster presentation.

July, 2025: Hanyoung (Ph.D. candidate) got the best presentation award for his last presentation on the 21st International Symposium on Flow Visualization held in Tokyo, Japan. Congrats!

June, 2025: Sechul attended "International Workshop on Green Fuel Production and Combustion" hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology) and had a presentation about hydrogen and ammonia-fueled internal combustion engine.
Apr, 2025: The research paper written by Prof. Mardani, Hanyoung, Prof. Kyung Chun Kim, and Sechul was published in International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow.
