College Scholarships for Choir

Many colleges will offer you scholarships to sing in their choir - no music major necessary!

1. Apply for the college you wish to attend
2. email the college choir director - tell them your voice part and that you want to sing in their choir
  - each college will have scholarship and audition information online
3. If necessary, sign up for one of their 1st 2 audition dates (usually Dec, Jan, or Feb)
  - sing 1 or 2 of your UIL Solos

Colleges will offer more scholarships if you are a Music Major/Minor who has made Region Choir, Area Choir, or All-State choir.

I have had many students get half tuition or full-ride scholarships to sing in the college choir without being a music major!!

Black Shoe Donations

Donations of Black dress shoes

PNG Choir is accepting donations of new or gently used solid black dress shoes for guys & girls in all sizes for our high school choir members. You can drop them off at the PNGHS Office, send them to school with your student, or bring them to a Choir Booster meeting. It’s preferable if the ladies shoes are flats or a low chunky heel. Thanks for your support!

Basic Choir Room Rules?

1. Student is to be in their seat when the bell rings.
2. Bring pencil and choir binder/music to class everyday.
3. cell phones in backpacks
4. Backpacks against the wall
5. Follow directions the first time given
6. No talking when teacher is talking
7. No talking during announcements
8. Stay in seat until dismissed
9. Do not work on work from other classes during my class
10. Students NOT in a current choir class are not permitted in the choir room during other class times or during lunch.

What do I need to bring to Choir?

1st Day Handout
1" binder to hold music for class (optional)
1" or 1/2" BLACK 3-ring binder, no clear overlay - for concerts and class
a pencil
a highlighter
a smile
and a positive and encouraging attitude!
