Edit : ok so to avoid your AV (defender, which is the thing stopping the software from finishing what it does) on windows 10, you'll want to check the analysis parameter under "windows security"/"virus & threat protection"/scan options. Depending on that option, defender will check specific files for anything that looks like a malware, from what I understand / guess...
