Michael is a graduate of Woodland Hills High School class of 1995. He moved to Plum in 2017 with his wonderful wife Allison and his son Domenic. Michael was a dual major in college where he graduated with a degree in Mathematics and Business Administration. After college, Michael acquired a strong culinary background and has learned under many of Pittsburgh’s top chefs.
Today, Michael works for Sysco Food Services and is an award-winning New Business Developer for the Mideast Region. The role of a Business Developer is to open mid to large size restaurant groups and advise them on how to grow market share. While working with Sysco, Michael has assisted in starting a culinary program for underprivileged communities in Pittsburgh. Very few industries allow a high school graduate to become the head of a business without a college degree other than the service industry. The program Michael has worked to develop gives students the tools to earn a living doing just that.
Along with his work teaching culinary arts to students, he is also a member of the Nourishing Neighbors program. This program helps to serve food to people who are food-insecure in Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. Working with Pittsburgh Vets, Kneed Community Kitchen, and 412 Food Rescue, he has been able to provide millions of pounds of food to people in need.
Michael’s Plum life consist of coaching young boys baseball and teaching the best game on Earth to children in Plum. He is also known for spending his time with the Emerald Drive crew – the best street in Plum. It’s always been a dream for Michael to devote his time to public service and helping the community move forward towards being better than when he found it. Spending the majority of his professional life in customer service, but also being able to negotiate and listen to other views will make him a strong candidate for Plum Council. Michael is always willing to have a conversation about the betterment of Plum and find a common ground. Michael is registered as a Democrat; however, party affiliation does not hold him back from making the best decision for Plum and his neighbors.
Over the upcoming months, Michael invites great conversation and ideas on how we can put into action on making Plum the best it can be for ALL citizens.
