Dave Odom is a 17-year resident of Plum Borough. Dave spent 10 years in the U.S. Navy as an Information Warfare Officer and while on active duty, became known as one of the Department of Defense experts in the tactics of Computer Network Operations. He holds both undergraduate and master’s degrees in Computer Science from Norfolk State University and the Naval Postgraduate School respectively. He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and member of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2). Dave is currently the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Naval Nuclear Laboratory currently operated by Fluor Marine Propulsion where he is responsible for the management of the cybersecurity program.
Dave also currently serves as the Trustee Chairman for Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Dave has been involved in the community coaching youth soccer, basketball, the YMCA Guides Program and has served on the board for the Plum Community Center. Dave was elected to Plum Council in 2017 and in his first term has chaired the Planning and Economic Development committee, is a founding member of the Storm Water Task Force and was unanimously voted to serve as Council President.
Dave has been married to his wife Charmaine since 2003 and they have three adult children (Karen Odom, Joshua Lockridge – 2012 Plum Senior High Graduate, Nicole Lockridge – 2013 Plum Senior High School Graduate) and twin boys (Noah Odom and Nicholas Odom).
Dave endeavors to leverage technology to project a positive image of Plum that attracts new residents, businesses and revitalizes our community. He also fundamentally believes in promoting a safe community for residents, developing innovative ways to collaborate with the community and pursuing initiatives that are important to encourage new business growth and bolster employment opportunities within the borough.
