About Us
OUR TEAM
We would like to introduce you to our hard-working team of Volunteers. We could not do what we do without them.
Evelyne Gerault, our rescuer, lives in a town 2 hours out of Veracruz. Evelyne keeps most all of the dogs in her home. A few do go into boarding when she is overcrowded. We pay for this out of our monthly donor’s account. She escorts eery single dog to every single appointment. This is an endless routine, watch some videos on our Facebook Page if you’re unclear of this woman’s dedication and commitment to the well being of every single living creature she comes across.
Yara Ramos plays a huge role in helping rescue & rehabilitate our dogs as well. Yara is our driver to and from the Veracruz airport, along with her partner. Thank you Yara Ramos for all you do.
Nancy Yaaj & Lucila De Leon are our rescuers in Cancun. Our dogs are in their care. Many in both of their personal homes. Thank you both so much for your endless work.
Natalie Cunliffe is our Nanaimo rep., she runs our sister site, Beyond the Border (Evelyne's Alumni) and she is a crate & flight angel as well. Thank you, Natalie, for all you do!
Kelly Oakes-Weins is our Vernon, Kelowna area volunteer rep. She & her lovely daughter Jamie Weins, post on their local community pages, co-ordinates foster/adoption doggy transports and does lots of brainstorming with our back of house volunteers.
Johnny Cashew & her husband Allan. Thank you for your continued support and making us all laugh. Allan is a hobby artist. He builds amazing art out of cutlery; partial proceeds are donated to Pawsitively Loved. Please ask anytime to see a current selection of art pieces available. Thank you both!
Vness Gennex our local artist. Vanessa hosts Paint Parties. I have personally attended this class. It is a lot of fun and all proceeds are donated to our rescue. Vanessa is planning another event soon at her studio in Langley, please watch our Facebook event page for an update!
Char Lee makes our dog tug-o-war ropes!! All funds donated to Pawsitively Loved. Get yours today! Char adopted Harley, one of our first pocket bullys to get out. He and his brother Michael made the very first flight, followed by their sisters Winnie & Sadie. Look for hilarious videos of the girls playing tug-o-war! Harley has a gorgeous sister, Sophie. Thank you Char!
Kira Kira, works endlessly arranging flights, dealing with inspection and airport issues (CARM), answering questions about adoptions, getting the many crates ready to go to the airport for the 22 dogs that will fly, meeting the adopters at YVR (Vancouver airport) to help facilitate when the dogs arrive, and just about anything she is asked. Thank You Kira!
Fosters: We have so many wonderful fosters. Janice Amoto (previously fostered Frankie) has graciously offered to foster again. Our newest foster is Mckayla Ann Dricos. Vicki Blogg has two dogs of her own (Sophie & Oliver) but continues to foster any dog not adopted or fostered when there is a spot available on a flight. Roberta Robertson who many times fosters dogs overnight while waiting to be transported to their final destination. Tara Yensen, who, already as the Flight Angel, not only brings the dogs back but also takes some home to overnight despite having 3 of her own. We thank ALL our Fosters.

Application for Adoption
FAQ's
FEES FOR ADOPTION AND FOSTER TO ADOPT:
This application form is for dogs posted on Pawsitively Loved Rescue Society ~ non profit organization, Evelyne Gerault. Please note Pawsitively Loved Rescue Society is our name in Canada, in Cancun our rescue is named Renacer Contigo, both are registered nonprofit organizations. We are the same rescue.
Costs to adopt a dog from Pawsitively Loved Rescue Society, Veracruz & Cancun Mexico: Range from $904 - $1500 and includes CBSA Inspection, taxes and porter.
These costs are based on: Flight fee to YVR, Adoption fee, which helps pay for the sterilization, vaccines, blood panel to test for heart worm, water born diseases and the like, deworming and other vetting that our rescues need before they start their healing journey. If our dogs have heart worm it is at least a 3-month healing and recovery process in Cancun, we do not recover the expenses on these poor pups, so we try to spread out costs evenly between our adopters to keep costs down for all dogs. A lot of dogs come in with severe mange, this is a very long and tedious healing process. This is done for love, not money.
Higher price results from larger dog (weight fees) and additional medical costs are sometimes factored, but rarely and cost to ship to your nearest airport. Fees are due upon acceptance of adoption. This fee is non-refundable. If you decide to return your dog to PLRS we will help you re-home your dog. We will post on our page, screen applicants, arrange transport if required and answer questions for potential adopters. There will be no refund
CBSA (Canadian Customs and Border Services Agency) charges inspection fee of our vet paperwork that is sent with each dog. They also charge tax on the 'adoption' fee, which we list to be in line with other Mexican rescues in our area. We do not vary from this on our paperwork so that we do not cause issues and delays at Customs for our flight angels, adopters, fosters and our greeter, Kira Whitlock
