It's time to observe...
The first week of me at SMAN1 Banjarmasin was for observation. There were 3 grades that i had to observe; grade 10, grade 11, and grade 12. Ma'am Putu let me to join in her class so i could see her teaching method. She was very kind teacher the students enjoy to study with her. Moreover, she assigned the student to interview me to practice speaking skill and then they had to make a report.

I was interviewed by the IPA Grade 12/1 students.
5 questions for 1 student, so everyday i had to answer many questions. Most of the question were good questions. They liked to asked me about the differences between Indonesia and Thailand. From this activity made me know that Indonesian students have more confident. They didn't be scared to talk with foreigner so that's why they really good at English.

I would like to thank you Ma'am Putu for this activity. It's not only good for the students to practice speaking skill but also for me. Observation, I got many knowledge. The teacher teach the students English by using 4 skills; listening, speaking, reading, and writing and always focused on the use for communicate more than grammar translation. So the students were able to use English naturally.

I not only observed but also discussed with Ma'am Putu about lesson plan. She assigned me to teach in grade 12 and the topic i had to teach was offering help. For me, Ma'am Putu was an awesome mentor she not only check my lesson plan but also gave me more suggestions for my teaching method. This was knowledge that i can bring to apply in my teaching if i would be an English teacher.
