A. The library is NOT responsible for personal items that are lost, stolen or damaged inside the library premises.
B. Library users must bring all the time their valuables and important things.
C. Internet access is limited to educational research only. Accessing of objectionable content like pornographic websites, dating websites, online gaming, etc. is strictly prohibited and may lose library privileges if caught violating.
A. Submit a letter of request addressed to the university librarian for proper documentation.
B. Distribution of questionnaires, photography, recording, interview, etc. must be upon the approval of the university librarian.
A. Must apply for a PLMar library card before borrowing any library materials.
B. Employees may borrow books and references on the following conditions:

D. It is not in demand or frequently used
E. Employees may borrow a maximum of 3 copies for 14 calendar days provided that the library materials are not frequently used and limited.
F. Renewal of borrowed library material is allowed only once for another 14 calendar days.
G. A follow-up letter will be issued for not renewed and overdue books.
I. Every student must apply for a library card.
II. Requirements: 2 pcs. recent 1 x 1 ID picture and current registration form for students and a valid ID for the teaching and non-teaching personnel .
III. Benefits with the library card:
A. Free 30-minute use of computer for online researching and applications like MS Office.
B. Access and read library materials inside the library.
C. Borrow a maximum of two (2) pocketbooks for seven (7) calendar days.
D. Photocopy, photograph or scan selected reading materials but must have prior permission and should be following the Copyright Law.
IV. Library Card reminders:
A. The library card is free and must be validated every enrollment.
B. An untidy library card and without a picture are considered invalid.
C. The library card is non-transferable.
D. The library card must be laminated in able to avail the library services.
The logo bears the inscription of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina Library and 2003 as the year of its establishment. The book and the computer are recognized as instruments for learning. The quill pen represents the communication of the library to the academic community. Lastly, the laurel wreath and the torch symbolize the success and enlightenment of both the institution and the students being served by the library.
The PLMar Library was established in 2003. It was first located at Concepcion Integrated School, J.P. Rizal St., Concepcion Uno, Marikina City. The collection was divided into the University Collection and the Nursing Collection where BS Nursing was considered as one of the pioneer courses of the university. In 2005, the core collection totaled 1,802 volumes.
In 2010, the library transferred to Brazil St., Greenheights Subdivision, Concepcion Uno, Marikina City. Since then, the collection grew to 8,000 volumes with the continuous procurement of library materials and with the overflowing donations of the friends of the library. It also started having units of computers for encoding and internet services.
In June 2014, with the expansion of PLMar, the new branch reopened to serve the SSS campus. The two branches have their specialty collection depending on where the course is being offered. For the Greenheights branch, it has a library collection for the College of Nursing, Information Technology, Hospitality, and Tourism Management. For the SSS branch, it has books and references for Education, Criminology, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology, and Public Administration.
Starting in July 2020, the library began its more aggressive initiative in providing innovative library services which are as follows:
PLMar Library: Your Partner in Learning and Discovery tagline was made to reinforce the library’s main purpose.
The first official social media account of the PLMar library was launched. The Aklatan PLMar on Facebook contains albums about the Library Collection, Library Staff, Physical Facilities, and Online Library which showcase the list of available open access resources to guide the users in finding reliable information online even if the library is physically closed due to COVID-19 pandemic.
ASK MARIKIT was introduced as the library’s virtual reference service. Marikit, as the Virtual Librarian will help the users online regarding their research needs through a chat facility on Facebook or email. The name Marikit was derived from the historical character of Marikina with a statue at Marikina River Park.

E. Engaging in conduct that disturbs the staff and other library users.
F. Harassing or threatening behavior.
G. Using obscene or abusive language or gestures.
H. Talking loudly and making unreasonable noise.
I. Loud ringing of cellphones or any communication devices.
J. Bringing a gun or any other weapon.
K. Soliciting, petitioning, or canvassing.
L. Vandalizing and damaging library furniture and equipment.
M. Tearing, defacing, mutilating library materials.
N. Theft of any library materials.
A. Room reading
Maximum of three (3) books per user are allowed for room reading.
B. Procedure in Photocopying of Reading Material
A. Only pocketbooks may be renewed once for another fourteen (14) days.
B. Pocketbooks requested for renewal must be presented physically for approval and updating of records.
C. PLMar teaching and non-teaching personnel may renew books only once for another 14 calendar days provided that it is not frequently used by the students considering the limited collection of the library. Books must be physically presented as request for renewal is not guaranteed depending on the demand of the book.
D. Renewal request through chat or email is allowed under valid circumstances.
A. A fine of twenty pesos (Php20) per day will be imposed excluding Sundays and Holidays.
B. Overdue fine must be paid at the University Cashier.
A. Lost book must be reported immediately to avoid accumulation of overdue fine.
B. It must be replaced not later than two weeks after reporting with the exact copy and the book must be in good condition.
C. In case the book is out-of-print, higher copyright and with the exact title may be allowed for replacement. This must be approved by the university librarian.
D. Donation of other titles cannot be considered a replacement or equivalent to the lost or damaged material.
In this time of COVID-19 Pandemic, the library will follow the IATF Guidelines and must strictly implement the health protocol.

B. Temperature must be checked at the school entrance.
C. Health Information Form must be filled out and submitted to the person-in-charge.
D. Step on the disinfectant mat.
E. Observe social distancing.
F. Sanitize hands before and after entering the library.
