Violina Petrychenko is an internationally acclaimed concert pianist and Artistic Director who serves as a preeminent ambassador for Ukrainian musical heritage. Having refined her artistry at the National Music Academy of Ukraine and prestigious German institutions, she has graced world-renowned stages such as the Berlin Philharmonie with performances marked by intellectual depth and lyrical sincerity. A dedicated champion of neglected Ukrainian compositions, she has recorded eight albums—including the Opus Klassik-nominated Mriyi (Dreams) — and founded the "Sounds of Ukraine" Festival in Cologne. Currently a soloist with the Lviv National Philharmonic, Petrychenko continues to build vital cultural bridges, uniting the European piano tradition with the soulful spirit of her homeland. → more

Ryohei Yagi performs Kyiv's official city anthem, "My Kyiv (Kyiv)." Composer Ihor Shamo (1925-1985) was born in Kyiv, graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory, and served in the Great Patriotic War. He later produced many works, including theater pieces. He is well-known in Ukraine as a composer. The performance was held at the Keyaki Hall of the Koga Masao Music Museum on February 15, 2024. Alina Cherkasova performs a playful folk-style traditional Ukrainian village song, "Tramping the Path" by Yakiv Stepovy (composer) featuring lyrics by Taras Shevchenko. Alina is an award-winning Ukrainian opera singer, educator, and dedicated humanitarian. A graduate of Ukraine’s prestigious Odessa and Dnipro Music Academies, Alina has channeled her international performance career into impactful advocacy, from founding the "Opera vo Blago" charity in Ukraine to organizing medical fundraisers for her home country from her current base in North Carolina. Whether performing for the U.S. military or serving as a Guardian ad Litem for children in need, Alina remains committed to the belief that music and service go hand-in-hand.

Eileen, a professional translator and a lifelong lover of music, performs "Oi u luzi chervona kalyna" ("Oh, in the meadow a red guelder rose"), which is a Ukrainian folk song, first published in 1875 by the Ukrainian historians Volodymyr Antonovych and Mykhailo Drahomanov, arranged by the composer Stepan Charnetsky, adopted in 1914 as the anthem of the Legion of Ukrainian Sich Riflemen.

Ryohei Yagi performs "Gavotte." The composer, Viktor Kosenko (1896-1938), was known as the "Ukrainian Chopin" and left behind many piano works. He was an accomplished pianist himself, and all of his works are written in advanced piano notation, featuring third and sixth chords and leaps of more than octaves, making him worthy of being called the "Ukrainian Chopin." "Gavotte" is the seventh piece in "11 Etudes in the Form of Antique Dances, Op. 19," and is a chord exercise. A short collection of Ukrainian Anna Nuzha’s favorite cello moments – featuring excerpts from timeless pieces by Schubert (Ave MAria), Bach (Arioso), Albinoni (Adagio), and Piazzolla (Oblivion).and Bach (Prelude from Suite No. 1). Known for her deep sensitivity and expressive tone, Anna brings a unique emotional shade to each fragment, from calm and longing to quite beauty. Anna serves as Chairman of the Board at the All-Ukrainian public organization "Union of Musicians of Ukraine" and Associate Professor of the Department of Stringed Instruments at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy. "Not All Sorrows Have Died" (О, ще не всі умерли жалі), performed by soprano Sarah Nalty, is a profoundly evocative Ukrainian art song. It beautifully blends the late Romantic sensibilities of composer Yakiv Stepovyi with the soulful poetry of Oleksandr Oles. Gohei Nishikawa, who suffered from Dystonia In the middle of a brilliant career, plays Mariya Takeuchi's "The Song of Life" using seven fingers for the war victims in Ukraine. This music was originally composed by Takatsugu Muramatsu for Mariya Takeuchi. It celebrates the preciousness of connection and the simple joys found in everyday life. The lyrics express appreciation for loved ones, both present and past, while highlighting the significance of shared experiences. It acknowledges moments of sadness but finds solace in the enduring warmth of companionship. Ultimately, the song conveys gratitude for the gift of life and the connections that give it meaning.

西川悟平は、輝かしいキャリアの途中で、突如ジストニアという難病に冒されながらも、懸命なリハビリの末、７本指で再起を果たした奇跡の音楽家です。西川氏が演奏する竹内まりや作詞の「いのちの歌」は、つながりの大切さと日々の生活の中にあるささやかな喜びを讃えています。歌詞は、現在と過去の愛する人への感謝を表現し、共有した経験の重要性を強調しています。悲しい瞬間を認めながらも、友情の永続的な温かさに慰めを見出します。最終的に、この曲は、生命という贈り物と、生命に意味を与えるつながりへの感謝を伝えています。

In this video, Eileen performs the iconic folk song “Hey, Sokoly!” (“Hey, Falcons!”). This track represents the strong connection between Poland and Ukraine—a song born in Poland that is now a staple of Ukrainian culture. Eileen, who is also a professional translator, recorded this performance to express her deep thanks to the people of Poland for standing with Ukraine in its time of need.

A Ukrainian yodeler, kpop, jazz and pop performer, Sofia Shkidchenko performs a lovely song Чорнобривці (chornobryvtsi) which means marigolds in English, referring to the vibrant orange and yellow flowers of the genus Tagetes. In Ukrainian culture, they are a significant national symbol representing the beauty of Ukraine, love for the native land, and the strength of the nation.

Soprano Ashlyn Mazone performs "Do Not Sing Happy Songs" (Ni, ne spivaj pisen' veselykh) by Ukrainian composer Yakiv Stepovyi, a plea to set aside cheerful melodies in favor of sorrow and empathy. "No, do not sing happy songs / About flowers and love," the lyrics impore, urging the singer not to break the listener's heart with false joy. Instead, the piece demands an acknowledgement of the harsh realities of life -- unhappiness, despair, and tragedy. Through vivid imagery of "burning tears" and "rattling chains," the song serves as a wake-up call, asking that we do not "lull our brothers to sleep" with happiness, but rather stand in recognition of their pain.

Mr. Yoshiaki Tokunaga, a seaweed (Nori) farmer in Saga Prefecture, Japan, renowned for his rendition of Franz Liszt’s “La Campanella,” performed "Sunflower," composed by Henry Mancini, in honor of the victims of war in Ukraine and around the world. This moving tribute took place on May 22, 2024, in Miyazaki, Japan.

This song was sung by many volunteers and created flash mob sing-along videos on social media and video sites to show support for Ukraine as it fought against the Russian invasion in 2022. On April 8th of the same year, Pink Floyd released a new song based on this song, "Hey Hey Rise Up," in support of Ukraine. The song was originally written in 1914 by Ukrainian poet Stepan Czarnetsky (Stepan Czarnetskyi) to pay homage to the Sich Rifle Corps, a volunteer organization formed during the Ukrainian independence movement under the rule of the Russian Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Improvisation by Alexander Znosko-Borovsky (1908–1983) is a cry of sorrow and hope channeled through the cello. Though composed years ago, today its melody now echoes the reality of the war in Ukraine: the ruins, the shelters, and the mothers seeking safety for their children. Through this performance, a Ukrainian cellist Anna Nuzha (Cello) invites the world to remember our most precious shared values — human life, happiness, and peace.

アレクサンダー・ズノスコ＝ボロフスキー (1908-1983) の『即興曲（Improvisation）』は、チェロの音色に託された悲しみと希望の叫びです。この曲が作られたのは何年も前のことですが、そのメロディは今、ウクライナでの戦争という現実を映し出しています。そこにあるのは、崩れ落ちた街、避難所、そして子供たちの安全を願う母親たちの姿です。ウクライナ人チェリストのアンナ・ヌザ（Anna Nuzha）は、この演奏を通じて、私たちが共有する最も大切な価値観である「人の命」「幸せ」そして「平和」を忘れないでほしいと、世界に語りかけています。
