Dr Alessandra Rossetti is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellow currently working on plain language training and financial literacy, under the supervision of Prof Luuk Van Waes. She is based at the Faculty of Business and Economics (Department of Management) at the University of Antwerp (Belgium). She previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the ADAPT Centre at Dublin City University (Ireland), where she carried out projects on plain language in financial content for older adults, on machine translation in crisis situations, and on translation/localisation training, under the supervision of Prof Sharon O'Brien. Alessandra was also a member of the European project INTERACT (International Network on Crisis Translation, grant agreement No 734211) and a visiting researcher to the non-profit group Cochrane (Oxford, UK) and to Arizona State University (Phoenix, USA). Alessandra holds a PhD in Translation Studies from Dublin City University, a Master's degree from the University of Bologna (Forlì, Italy), and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy). Prof Luuk Van Waes is based at the Faculty of Business and Economics (Department of Management) of the University of Antwerp (Belgium), where he teaches business and technical communication and coordinates the Writing and Digital Communication research team. His work mainly focuses on the cognitive processes of professional writers during text production (through ethnographic, experimental and quasi-experimental research, and relying on advanced statistics). Professor Van Waes is principle investigator and (co-)promotor of a wide range of national and international projects, funded by the Flemish government, the Research Foundation Flanders, the Dutch Research Council, and the European Union. He has also been Working Group leader/Management Committee member of several COST Actions (e.g. Strengthening Europeans’ capabilities by establishing the European literacy network ISCH COST Action IS1401, 2015-2019). Prof Van Waes is editor of the Journal of Writing Research and sits on the editorial boards of several other journals, such as the International Journal of Business Communication, Studies in Writing, and the European Journal of Education and Psychology.
