Participation

Finalists are expected to be present and on time for all planned events. It is especially important that you are on time so that we can make sure there are no technical issues and we keep to our schedule and begin the challenges on time. We encourage you to set an alarm clock to be prepared for the next day’s activities. We have a lot scheduled for you in a limited amount of time and appreciate your promptness.

Independence

The 3M Young Scientist Challenge is intended to be an enriching and truly unique experience for you. A valuable part of the program will be the relationships that you will develop with other finalists who will share the pressures and the triumphs of this competition. During the first two challenges, parents will not be allowed to be in the room or on the Teams stream. This allows the judges to see you in an independent setting. Parents are invited to observe the two challenges and final innovation presentations via a public link over the course of the two day event.
