Preca

Preca are completely free to make and anyone can have one. You don't have to have a rixgem.

Preca is the pet species of Rixgems, but can be owned by other species as domestic preca are sold on other planets. They are intersex biologically, but pet owners will usually give them a set of pronouns to help identify their little buddy.

Preca's are kind of built like a very odd turtle, their shell is flexible yet rigid enough that if an earthren cat were to knock a bowling ball onto their back they will not be harmed (maybe spooked). Due to their shape they can't wear collars on their neck, but they can wear special harnesses made to grip onto their shell. (they look like dog harnesses)

They can be as small as a guineapig or as big as a MaineCoon cat (wild tend to fall in the middle).

Preca identify the world around them through 6 senses. Sight, sound, tastes, touch, smell, and heat. It is possible they use their heat pits to find ideal spots for their favorite food, fungus and moss.

Preca in the wild hunt down fungus and moss to eat, but can eat other plants and will sometimes eat insects. Their favorite of the fungal family is the imported Playreli shroom, and most Preca treats are usually made of or flavored like these mushrooms.

Their pet food is made of plant material, and it is recommended to add suplements into their kibble to promote healthy shell and fur growth.

Despite being capable of hunting, they will not try to munch on fungus that moves on its own. This is probably due to the fact that when "the crumbling" was happening, a specific parasitic fungus (Ophiocordyceps pagos, or the eater fungus) took the oppurtunity to jump from a currently extinct insect to Preca. What this caused will be left out as it's not for the faint of heart.
