Animus, the heart of the Aetherian system is a star much smaller and dimmer than are own sun but plenty sufficient for life on Aether. Animus is either is or isn't a red dwarf depending on how broad the definition used. Even still, whatever definition is used Animus will surely be on the smaller end. Animus bathes the system in a warm red glow fueling life, just 0.61au away.
