Dawn of Life on Aether
Life begins its colonization of Aether, meek and small it stays this way a very, very long time. Eventually two dominate clades of complex life forms, from them will radiate every animal to experience all Aether has to offer. These clades are known as Cyanopluma and Pliaceps, although they appear simple they both have the necessary attributes to proliferate and fill every niche available to them.
Cyanopluma
Possessing six simple eyes Cyanopluma can discern light apart from dark but cannot visualize color, they locate their food by scent utilizing their six rhinophores. Cyanopluma do not fear predation, this is not because they are toxic, can camouflage, or even outrun threats, no. Cyanopluma have none of these things. The first Cyanopluma inhabited a world vacant of predators as they were among it's first inhabitants however, this did not last long.
Pliaceps
Pliaceps are simple organisms bearing a resemblance to sea anemones these animals feed by filtering plankton through the water with their many tentacles, once prey is caught it is it is slowly passed to the mouth at the center of its body. Although they may look like plants they are in fact animals and unlike Cyanopluma the most primitive forms of these animals do not have blood they respire by passively absorbing oxygen through their gelatinous bodies, while larger forms have simple circulatory systems. Much like Cyanopluma will live a peaceful existence until the evolution of predation of which is only just around the corner.
These dominate animal clades of life are not all that is found to Aether, life exits in much smaller forms as well as autotrophic forms. These clades of life are omnipresent. The autotrophs comprising the bases of the food chain, with familiar and strange appearances compared to the plants found to earth life. The microbes of Aether maintain the upkeep of the conditions necessary for larger multicellular organisms to prosper.
