This is a University of Arizona, General Education class that has an emphasis in the humanities and diversity and equity. This atlas consist of 6 different modules, each with their own theme. Module 7 presents some conluding remarks about the project.
Module 1: LA in Black & White
A comparison of the racial geographies of "To Live and Die In LA" and "I Love LA" music videos.
Module 2: Places in "To Live and Die"
The Places that make up "To Live and Die In LA" with URLS and a description of the intersection of Florence / Normandie intersection.
Module 3: Levittown, Daisy and William Myers Geographic Case Study
This module is a case study of Daisy and William Myers in Levittown and put it into context by looking at black and white race density maps from the US Census.
Module 4: Levittown, Suburbanization and Redlining
In this module we going to put Levittown in context with Redlining practices in the same area.
Module 5: Native Lands & Land Acknowledgment
In this module we will also look at why Land Grant Universities in the United States are doing territorial land acknowledgement statements and the geographic information behind Native Lands and Territorial Rights.
Module 6: Inequality in the US in a Global Context
In this module we take a closer look at how inequalities in the United States compare to other Countries around the World
