Chinese riddles 【 mí yǔ】& Paper cutting
Chinese riddles are a great way to engage your children in learning the Chinese language. Not only do they provide an entertaining and interactive way for your kids to learn, but they also help them develop important cognitive skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, communication, and memory recall.
Riddles can be used to practice vocabulary and sentence structure while fostering a greater understanding of the Chinese culture. These brain teasers provide an enjoyable challenge that encourages learning through play. Whether you’re trying to improve your Mandarin speaking or writing skills or teach your child about Chinese culture and language, Chinese riddles are a fun and effective tool for any learner.
But, how do you play the riddles?
To play, have them read one line with you and then take a guess. If they can't figure it out, show the second line, third line, and fourth line until they give the right answer.
If your kid still doesn't know, show your child all the clues, but if they still need more, draw a picture of the answer and ask them to take a guess.
Finally, show your kid the answer to the riddle. Yep, it's as simple as that!
I've included Youtube videos with riddles underneath. There are 13 of them, so there are enough to engage your children for a while.
