Pinuyumayan Garland Tribal School
The Taitung County Pinuyumayan Ethnic Autonomy Promotion and Development Association was established in June 2012 by the combined efforts of eight societies and ten villages of the Pinuyumayan tribe (Katratripulr Village, Kasavakan Village, Likavung Village, Tamalakaw Village, A’lripay Village, Mulivelivek Village, Danadanaw Village, Pinaski Village, Pinuyumayan Village, and Papulu Village). The association was founded with the aim of achieving "Pinuyumayan ethnic autonomy." As such, it serves as the communication platform for the ten Pinuyumayan villages and acts as their official voice; especially when addressing issues related to ethnic justice and rights, the association unites the ten villages in their collective response.
Since 2012, the association has managed the "Pinuyumayan Garland Tribal School” by leasing the former Meinong Elementary School campus from the Taitung County Government as its operational base. The school aims to strengthen the preservation and development of the Pinuyumayan language and culture, restore a tribal-centric educational environment and reclaim tribal educational rights. The campus is spacious and conveniently located within a thirty-minute drive from all Pinuyumayan villages. In recent years, the association has organized experiential camps and tours, connecting with the ten Pinuyumayan villages and allowing visitors to engage with Pinuyumayan culture through dynamic camp activities.
Currently, the association is expanding into other fields such as leisure tourism and the arts industry. We aim to foster collaboration and innovation across diverse domains, laying the groundwork for the future development of various Pinuyumayan tribal affairs.
