As if there isn't enough to keep you busy enjoying the beauty of Ten Mile Lake, there are also many local attractions that are not far from Pinewood at all!

You will find everything from listening to live music as you enjoy your wood-fired grilled pizza from Green Scene at the Thursday morning Farmers Market in Walker, to trying your luck at Northern Lights Casino, to actually walking right across the Mississippi River at Itasca State Park! If you're up for bike riding but the Paul Bunyan Trail looks a bit long...try renting an electric bike at Northlakes Electric Bike Rental! (For those who want to actually pedal, Soulshine Cyclery is at your service!) Portage Brewery  in Walker serves a wide variety of very popular local beers, but if you find yourself wanting something to eat along with your brew, they allow ordering and delivery from the nearby Village Square Pizza & Ice Cream Parlor right next door. As you're enjoying your beer, simply call in your order, sit back at your table, and they will bring it right to you! If you really want to have an evening to remember, you will definitely want to give The 502 restaurant a chance to wow you with their delectable food AND spectacular views of Walker Bay!  

Any golfers out there? Northern Minnesota boasts several award-winning courses that test your skill while allowing you to take in the true beauty of the north woods. Long Bow Golf Club, Tianna Country Club, Headwaters, (Minnesota's #6 ranked public course in nearby Park Rapids) and Wilderness Trail Golf and Village name a few that are not far from Pinewood. And if you do head to Walker for golf, you just may want to stop and eat dinner at The Boulders to enjoy their distinctive dining with casual comfort. You won't regret it! 

You will also find many quaint and charming events right in our own little town of Hackensack, by checking out the Hackensack, MN Chamber of Commerce. They host a monthly flea market that attracts people from near and far, as well as several seasonal American Legion Meat Raffles. Nothing says "You are in northern Minnesota" quite like a meat raffle! It is an experience you must try! And finally, we are very fortunate to have a thriving Ten Mile Lake Association!
