The famous Pikes Peak Highway is a popular stop for tourists on their trip to Colorado. To get to the top of the 14,115 foot mountain, the road travels 19 miles up hairpin turns and eventually above tree-line to get a full view of the city in the East, and the Western mountains behind it. Along the way, you can stop at numerous pull-offs for pictures or hikes. Or, if you like water sports, try fishing or paddle-boarding at Catamount or Crystal Reservoirs on the way up.

Every summer in late June, competitors and spectators alike come flocking to Pikes Peak for the International Hill Climb. This race started in 1916, and despite severe injury or deaths almost every year due to the 156 (extremely sharp!) turns, the race continues. Its iconic history and adrenaline are too much for motorists to resist! Whether it's a on a motorcycle or in a car, this is one of the most famous races for professional drivers to show-off their expertise.
