The Non-Competition Showcase is a global platform dedicated to boundless creative freedom, expanding its horizons far beyond standard formats to celebrate the full spectrum of contemporary moving images. This inclusive track proudly welcomes feature-length masterpieces (Feature Animation), heartwarming stories for young minds (Children Animation), cutting-edge tech integration (AI Animation), pure human craftsmanship and reality-driven narratives (Non-AI Film & Documentary), high-end technical marvels (VFX Shortfilm), and boundary-pushing visual expressions (Experimental Video Art). It is a curated architectural space designed for professional studios, independent creators, and next-generation students worldwide to unleash pure artistic vision completely free from the constraints of formal jury scoring.
This showcase offers an exceptional opportunity to project your work on an international stage that seamlessly bridges unique regional charm with global standards under our "Local Experience, Global Impact" framework. 🎬 Non-Competition Showcase
Feature Animation Showcase: Celebrating full-length animated features with compelling storytelling and world-building.
45 minutes or longer / Open completion date / English subtitles required.
Children Animation Showcase: High-quality animations specifically curated for young audiences (ages 4–9) and families (G or PG equivalent).
Under 20 minutes preferred / No mature themes or violence / English subtitles required.
Fully AI Generated Animation Showcase: A dedicated space for works where generative AI tools are central to the visual generation or prompting.
Under 30 minutes / Completed after January 1, 2024 / Must list the AI tools utilized / English subtitles required.
Short Film & Documentary Showcase (with Elements of Local Culture): Capturing the raw authenticity of local lives, human relationships, and cultural heritage.
Camera-captured reality and traditional craftsmanship (Strictly NO generative AI) / English subtitles required.
Short Film Showcase (CG & VFX): Highlighting the integration of CGI, visual effects, and post-production craft to transform creative concepts into cinematic realities.
Under 30 minutes / Completed after January 1, 2024 / Supporting AI tools allowed but human craft must be primary / English subtitles required.
Experimental Film & Video Art Showcase: A platform for avant-garde animation, abstract moving images, and non-narrative video art.
1 to 20 minutes preferred / Completed after January 1, 2024 / English subtitles required.

Official Screening: Your work showcased to a diverse international audience and industry professionals.

Rules & Terms
Introduction & Vision The Phulae International Animation Festival is committed to nurturing an ecosystem that fosters Professional Inspiration and illuminates sustainable Career Pathways for the next generation of visual storytellers under the ethos of "Local Experience, Global Impact." To ensure a world-class, transparent, and seamless curatorial workflow, all submitters must strictly adhere to the following Rules & Terms:
1. Copyright & Intellectual Property Rights
Ownership Warranty: The submitter (Director, Producer, or Authorized Distributor) must hold all legal rights to the submitted work. The film must not infringe upon the intellectual property, copyrights, trademarks, or privacy rights of any third party.
Screening Authorization: By submitting, the creator grants PiAF the non-exclusive right to screen the film during the festival period and its official touring events without any screening fee liabilities.
Promotional Usage: The festival reserves the right to utilize film stills, trailers, posters, and excerpts (not exceeding 10% of the total running time or a maximum of 3 minutes) for non-commercial promotional, educational, and public relations purposes across all media channels.
2. Technical Specifications & File Quality
Preview Copies: Submissions must be uploaded provided through a secure, password-protected link (e.g., Vimeo, YouTube Unlisted).
Official Selection Copies: Upon official selection, filmmakers must provide a high-quality screening copy within the designated deadline. Technical criteria are as follows:
Format: QuickTime (.mov) or MP4 encoded with H.264 or ProRes 422.
Resolution: No limitations, but Full HD (1920x1080) resolution is recommended.
3. Subtitle & Timecode Regulations
Mandatory Language Policy: All films with non-English dialogue or voiceovers must include burnt-in English subtitles or provide a separate external subtitle file.
SubRip Format (.srt): Submitters must supply a perfectly synchronized .srt file with accurate timecodes. This is an essential architectural requirement that enables our local team to organize localized Thai translations efficiently and reduce backend cognitive fatigue.
4. Compulsory Asset Requirements for Specific Categories
For submissions entering the Feature Animation, Short Film Culture, and Short Film VFX categories, the following high-impact assets are strictly mandatory for curatorial review and festival cataloging:
Official Synopsis: Submitters must provide a Synopsis (maximum 500 words) detailing the conceptual depth of the film.
Official Trailer: A downloadable link to a high-definition promotional trailer (Full HD or above) or an embeddable video link is required to drive audience engagement and pre-festival PR campaigns.

There is no submission fee to enter the Phu Lae International Animation Festival. We believe in providing equal opportunities for all filmmakers.
Unlimited Creative Freedom
Technique - All animation techniques are welcome, including 2D, 3D, stop motion, motion graphics, experimental animation, and more.
Content - There are no restrictions on the subject matter or genre of your film. We encourage diverse and thought-provoking storytelling.
Open to All
Age - Filmmakers of all ages are encouraged to submit their work.
Nationality - The festival is open to animators of all nationalities and from any country.
Recent Productions
Films must have been completed within the last five years, with a completion date of January 1st, 2021, or later. ( for Ai Animation & Short Film Show Case Must Completed after January 1, 2024)
Ownership and Rights
By submitting your film, you confirm that you are the rightful owner of the copyright or have all necessary rights and permissions to submit the film to the Phu Lae International Animation Festival.
