World Languages Department
I have been teaching at PHS since 1999. I usually teach French and Spanish, but have also taught German at the school. I have lived and worked in France, Mexico and Germany but I am originally from the United Kingdom. I became an American citizen in 2000. As you can see, many languages have been an integral part of my life!
In this increasingly global economy, a knowledge of foreign language and an understanding of different cultures is very important. It is quite hard to "pick up" another language from scratch at university - there simply isn't the time. It is really helpful to have a good start at high school. A second (or third!) language is something that is always a good addition to your resume.
I want you to build proficiency in another language in my class. My standards are high. After all, it is no fun to waste a year doing very little and to have even less to show for it. Please ask questions if there are things you are not sure about and come to tutoring if you need help.
Click on the relevant tab above for the course syllabus and information for your class. I have added a calendar below for your convenience. It has A/B days marked along with other important PHS dates.
I wish you a good and productive year in all you do!
