Calculator Vault · Hide Photos is designed to help users privately store and protect personal photos and videos on their own device.
The App may appear as a calculator interface to provide additional privacy protection for personal content.
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not violate the rights or privacy of others.
All content you import, create, or store within the App, including photos, videos, albums, and hidden items, remains entirely yours.
We do not access, view, or decrypt your vault contents. We do not operate our own servers for your media. We cannot read your files.
By default, your vault is stored locally on your device, encrypted.
If you turn on Backup & Sync with iCloud, encrypted copies of your main vault are stored in your iCloud private database (your Apple ID). That storage belongs to you and is subject to Apple’s iCloud terms and storage limits. We never see your media.
The decoy vault stays on the device only and is not backed up or synced to iCloud.
The App uses AES-256 encryption to help protect your files, along with:
Main PIN
Optional Decoy PIN
Face ID / Touch ID authentication
Recovery Key
Decoy PIN allows users to open a separate vault for additional privacy protection.
Users may also activate Face ID / Touch ID authentication by swiping up on the calculator screen.
You are solely responsible for keeping your PIN, biometric access, and recovery key secure.
If you lose your PIN, biometric access, and recovery key, we cannot recover your encrypted data. There is no email reset, security question, or developer backdoor.
Deleted files are moved to the Trash for 30 days.
During this period, files may be restored.
After 30 days, files are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered by us.
If Backup & Sync is on, Trash items may also sync to your iCloud as encrypted data. Emptying Trash removes those items from the synced copy according to the App’s sync rules.
Uninstalling the App removes local content on that device, including items in Trash. Uninstalling does not automatically delete your iCloud copy. To remove the cloud copy, use Delete iCloud Copy in the App (or delete this App’s data from iCloud in your device settings). Turning Backup & Sync Off pauses sync on that device; it does not delete the iCloud copy.
To function properly, the App may request access to:
Camera: To capture photos/videos into the vault, and to scan a recovery key QR code
Photo Library: To import media from your device, and to read a recovery key from an image if you choose
Biometric Authentication: To enable Face ID / Touch ID access
iCloud: To back up and sync encrypted vault data when you turn on Backup & Sync
You may disable these permissions at any time through your device settings, though some features may stop functioning properly.
Backup & Sync requires an Apple ID signed in to iCloud on the device. The App does not create a separate app account.
Backup & Sync with iCloud is an optional feature (Premium). It is off by default.
When it is on:
Encrypted copies of your main vault are stored in your iCloud private database
You can sync across your Apple devices and restore on a new device
Restore on a new device requires your recovery key
Photos stay encrypted on device and in iCloud — we never see them
Backup & Sync uses your iCloud storage. Apple’s iCloud storage limits and terms apply. We are not responsible for iCloud outages, quota, Apple ID access, or changes Apple makes to iCloud.
We cannot:
Recover deleted files
Recover a forgotten PIN without your recovery key
Recover a lost recovery key
Decrypt or restore your vault without credentials you control
Access or restore data after you delete the iCloud copy
Please keep your device, Apple ID, PIN, and recovery key secure.
The App may require you to create a recovery key. Keep a copy somewhere safe (for example written down, or a QR code you store yourself). We do not keep a copy of your recovery key.
You may need the recovery key to:
Unlock your vault if you forget your PIN
Restore from iCloud on a new device
Anyone who has your recovery key may be able to unlock your vault. Treat it like a password.
If you lose your PIN and your recovery key, your vault cannot be recovered. If Backup & Sync is on and you lose the recovery key, the encrypted iCloud copy cannot be decrypted by us or by Apple.
You may not use the App to:
Store or distribute illegal or harmful content
Violate the privacy or rights of others
Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, abuse, or modify the App’s functionality
Use the App in violation of applicable laws or regulations
The App is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
We do not guarantee that the App will always be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted. Encryption and security practices reduce risk, but no app can guarantee absolute security under all circumstances.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the App.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Loss of data
Forgotten PINs or recovery keys
Deleted content
Device-related issues
Loss of access caused by uninstalling the App
iCloud quota, Apple ID, or iCloud service issues
Unauthorized access due to device compromise, shared credentials, or a leaked recovery key
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time.
Any changes will be posted within the App or on the official support page.
Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
