START: everything open as separate tabs, nothing joined
GOAL: everything selected, moved, and transformed to fit in the scene.
QUICK SELECTION TOOL: selects based by dragging over, senses differences of color and contrast.
MAGIC WAND TOOL: selects based on color. Useful with white backgrounds (using select/inverse)
LASSO TOOL: selects by drawing an outline (freehand).
MOVE TOOL: moves selections.
SHIFT KEY: adds to selections (and constrains proportions while re-sizing in edit/free transform)
ALT KEY: subtracts from selections
SELECT/REFINE EDGE:
allows 'feather' (softening) on edge of selection
EDIT/FREE TRANSFORM
(or CTRL-T): shrinks, grows, and/or rotates objects
SELECT/INVERSE: turns selection 'inside out'
(useful when Magic Wand Tool is used to select a white background- 'inverts' the selection to the subject)
