Robert Krueger serves as Director of Bands at Port Huron Northern High School, where he oversees the Cadet Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Pep Band.
A proud alumnus of Eastern Michigan University, Mr. Krueger earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 2018. During his undergraduate studies, he studied Saxophone with Dr. Woody Chenoweth, Percussion with Jason Ihnat and Professor John Dorsey, and Conducting with Dr. Mary Schneider. He served as Principal Saxophonist of the EMU Wind Symphony and as Center Tenor Drummer in the EMU Marching Band Drumline. In his senior year, Mr. Krueger was awarded first place in the William Stewart Concerto Competition and was invited to perform John Mackey’s Concerto for Soprano Saxophone and Wind Ensemble with the EMU Wind Symphony.
Mr. Krueger earned a Master of Music degree in Conducting from Oakland University in 2024, where he studied saxophone with Dr. Jeff Heisler and conducting with Dr. Pam Klena and Dr. Gregory Cunningham.
His teaching career began in Port Huron Area Schools, where he previously served as Director of Bands at Holland Woods Middle School (2019–2020) and Fort Gratiot Middle School (2020–2025). Mr. Krueger is an active member of the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) and currently serves as the District III Vice President for Honors Band.
In addition to his responsibilities at PHN, Mr. Krueger is active as a clinician, consultant, music writer, and drill writer for various groups. He has also been invited to present lectures at the Michigan Music Conference on multiple occasions.
Mr. Krueger resides in Fort Gratiot with his wife, Marissa, and their dogs, Bart and Leo.

Mikayla Warner is the Director of Bands at Fort Gratiot Middle School.
She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a minor in Theatre from Michigan State University in 2023. Miss Warner marched with the Spartan Marching Band throughout her time at MSU, and served as a trumpet section and squad leader in her last two years. While at MSU, Miss Warner played trumpet, baritone, and E-flat cornet in various ensembles, and in different countries! She studied and performed with world-renowned brass professors Justin Emerich and Heather Zweifel.
Ms. Warner started her teaching career in Evart Public Schools, where she taught 5th-12th grade students in classes such as band, performing arts, general music, etc (2023-2025).
Outside of her role at Fort Gratiot, Ms. Warner fills in wherever she is needed as a jack of all trades instructor for the PHN Marching Band. She has instructed marching, drill, brass, front ensemble percussion, and Zumba!
David Baird serves as the Percussion Caption Head at Port Huron Northern High School, where he leads and oversees all elements of the marching percussion program.
A proud PHN alumnus, David was a member of the drumline from 2016 to 2019 and served as section leader his senior year. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (PreK–3) at Michigan State University, with an expected graduation in 2026.
David brings a wealth of performance experience, having played with ensembles such as Lake Effect Percussion, the Michigan State Drumline, the Detroit Pistons Drumline, and Drum Kingz. His teaching career spans several Michigan high schools, independent groups, and a growing roster of private students.

Carson Moore serves as the Battery Coordinator at Port Huron Northern High School and works with students to develop confidence in their playing and performance abilities. Carson is a PHN alum, and was a member of the PHN Drumline from 2016-2020. He finished his B.A. in Communication from MSU in 2025.
Carson’s Drumline experience includes Motor City Percussion, The Michigan State University Spartan Marching Band Drumline, and the Detroit Pistons Drumline. Carson also oversees our middle school “Drumline club” program, which sees future PHN drummers get an early start at our activity. The 26-27 season marks 1 decade as a part of the PHNMB for Carson.
Austin Comstock serves as the Front Ensemble Director at Port Huron Northern High School. Austin is a Michigan-based percussion educator with experience at the highest levels of competitive drumline. He has served as Drum Technician and Composer for drumlines at all levels. Some with multiple MAPA State Championship titles and placements at WGI World Finals. His performance background includes work with the Detroit Pistons Drumline and WGI finalist ensembles, including Matrix Performing Arts, Motor City Percussion, and Lake Effect Percussion. Austin holds a degree in Instrumental Music Education from Wayne State University. He brings a passion for ensemble excellence and a positive, improvement-oriented mindset to every rehearsal setting.
