Bernadette Bensaude-Vincent, philosopher of science and technology, is Emeritus Professor at Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University and a member of the French Academy of Technology. She has published a number of volumes on chemical sciences and materials: “Chemistry. The Impure Science”, (co-author Jonathan Simon) 2008; “Les Vertiges de la technoscience. Façonner le monde atome par atome” (2009); “Philosophie de la chimie” (Co-ed R-E Eastes) 2020; ”Between Nature and Society; Biographies of Materials” (2022); “Carbon Biography” co-author S. Loeve (2024). She was the 2021 Sarton Medalist of the History of Science Society, the recipient of the 2024 Franklin Lavoisier medal and of the 2026 Brock Award of the Society for the History of Alchemy and Chemistry.
Alberto Credi is Professor at the University of Bologna and Associate Research Director at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). He founded and directs the Center for Light Activated Nanostructures (CLAN), a joint University–CNR laboratory active in supramolecular chemistry, photochemistry, materials science and nanoscience. His research focuses on molecular systems and materials controlled by light; he is internationally recognised for logic devices, machines and molecular motors at the nanoscale. He has authored books and over 330 papers, received several awards including an ERC Advanced Grant, and delivered more than 200 invited lectures. He is a Fellow of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei and the European Academy of Sciences, and served as Vice Rector for Research in his University.
