I had the opportunity to participate in a group market research for a company called "Streamglish" as part of one of my courses. Our task was to conduct a comprehensive study to gather information that could help the company develop their business. We focused on the company's target market, which are students, and included both qualitative and quantitative research methods, as well as a complete benchmark analysis. The goal of the study was to provide the company with valuable insights into their market and to identify potential areas for growth and improvement.
We began by conducting in-depth interviews with students who were not current customers, but potential customers, in order to understand their needs, preferences, and perceptions of the company and its products, which is an E-Learning platform for English. We also collected and analyzed data from various sources such as surveys, online reviews, and industry reports to provide a more quantitative view of the market.
The benchmark analysis we carried out allowed us to compare the company's performance to that of its competitors and to identify best practices and areas for improvement.
In the end, we presented our findings to the company and provided recommendations for how they could better serve their target market and improve their overall performance. The project was a great opportunity for me to work with a team, to apply my knowledge and skills to an actual market research and it was also a great opportunity to work with a real company and provide them with valuable insights that could help them develop their business. The fact that it was an e-learning platform for English language made the research even more relevant for me as a language student.
