Post-doc (2019-2020): Acoustic lens and acoustical meta-materials for sound arts

Description

Participate in the research, development and creation of acoustic lens for sound art and sound installation. Part of a multidisciplinary research project that bridges the gap between arts and technologies with collaborators from music, art, engineering and acoustics. The outcome of the project will be presented to the public as a sound installation on public space. Topics : sound installation, meta-materials, 3D printing, acoustical lens, acoustical meta-materials.

Requirements or nice-to-have

• Experience in acoustics and spatial audio
• Nice-to-have:
  • Experience+knowledge in digital fabrication
  • Experience+knowledge in sound field control
  • Experience+knowledge in either art or engineering
• Experience in research
• Interest in bridging the gaps between arts, sciences and engineering
• Scientific writing and communications: English and French
• Strong will and interest in new forms or collaborative research
• Risk-tolerant since we actually don't know if it will work!
