Having the opportunity to teach English abroad is a valuable experience that truly broadens one’s horizons. For those who love teaching and want to improve their English skills, joining the SEA Teacher program in Indonesia is not just about teaching children — it’s about immersing yourself in a different culture and way of life. This blog shares my journey and experiences during my one-month teaching stint at a kindergarten school in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the SEA Teacher Program for giving me this life-changing opportunity. Thank you for trusting me to represent my university and for allowing me to grow through such a valuable experience.
My heartfelt thanks also go to Kanchanaburi Rajabhat University and the Faculty of Education for the continuous support and encouragement before, during, and after the program.
I would like to sincerely thank the administrators, mentor teachers, and staff at Apkaruna Kindergarten in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, for their warm welcome, guidance, and kindness throughout my stay. Your support made me feel at home and helped me grow both as a teacher and a person.
To my fellow SEA Teacher participants — thank you for the friendship, laughter, and shared memories that made this journey so meaningful.
And finally, I am most thankful to my family and friends who believed in me and cheered me on from the very beginning. Without your support, I wouldn’t have made it this far.
This experience will always be a special chapter in my life — one that has shaped my heart, my perspective, and my dreams for the future.
