COMMITTED

The Raiders have a lot to be excited about this season...they will be coached by Nerisa Laban, a coach who is committed to excellence not only in the classroom and on the court but in all aspects of life.Coach Nerisa is committed to helping educate athletes to improve skill sets and personal growth. She was part of the staff that made our first D&I Tourney a success and as soon as she accepted the position at RHS, requested we find a date to host one for the Reynold's School District and Community.
Coach Nerisa brings to Reynold's her passion for the sport of volleyball and commitment to improving how athletes in Oregon are trained. She is always offering clinics with guest coaches because she knows that every athlete is different and maybe, JUST MAYBE a guest coach may say a word or phrase in a different way that allows athletes to fully comprehend the skill being taught. It's her way of showing everyone just how committed she is to the success of all volleyball players she trains.

#VolleyTheChange

CEVA is committed to providing a safe and inclusive space for our entire membership to participate in the game of volleyball. In the Summer of 2018, CEVA created a Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Group, designed to help our region provide educational resources and training to club directors, coaches, players, tournament directors, officials, and parents.
The goal of this working group, and our organization as a whole, is to eliminate anyform of racism, discrimination, exclusion, sexism, and any other type of indecent behavior at our events that may be based on race, sexual orientation, gender, creed, or belief. We are committed to creating a culture that is welcoming, safe, and above all, enjoyable for all participants.

OUR MISSION

Portland Gay Volleyball (PGV) started as a recreational and social group in 1991 whose primary purpose was to promote the sport of volleyball and provide a safe zone for the GLBTQ athlete, our friends, family, and allies. That same year, we became members of North American Gay Volleyball Association (NAGVA) and began hosting the annual Portland Fall Ball Tournament, drawing in teams from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. In 2014, the group became Portland Gay Volleyball Club (PGVC), a nonprofit public benefit corporation and obtained tax exemption status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our main goal of promoting the sport and providing a non-exclusionary environment still remains. We have since added to our mission: embrace cultural diversity, develop and train players at the highest competitive level, provide a non-competitive atmosphere for those athletes that prefer to use volleyball as a social outlet and to grow the community locally, across the nation and have broadened the scope to include athletes from all over the world.
