Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!
Idith Gricelda Garcia is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience in teaching and school leadership. She began her career in 2002 at the Methodist Bilingual School in Roatan, Honduras, teaching Language Arts and Science at the infant level and Home Economics at the high school level.
In 2005, she returned to Belize and joined Wesley Lower School in Belize City. Recognizing the need to further her education, she pursued and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education from the University of Belize in 2012, graduating with honors. She already held a Diploma and an Associate’s Degree in Business from Corozal Community College and Corozal Junior College.
After a brief long leave in 2018, she resumed teaching at Punta Gorda Methodist School—a culturally diverse and smaller school environment. In 2023, she became the school’s principal, embracing a new leadership role that was never part of her original plan.
Though initially uncertain about leading adults, she is then pursued a Certificate in Educational Leadership and begun applying her learning to improve the school’s climate and culture.
Born in Corozal on January 25, 1982, and raised in a family of educators, Idith was instilled with values of hard work, respect, honesty, and trust. Her passion for education is deeply rooted in her upbringing, and she finds joy in helping students succeed and grow
