PROJECTS:

  • In the year 2017, students completed two live projects namely "Mathematical modelling of garbage collection using travelling salesman problem” and “Mathematical programming in Waste Collection System using Graph Theory”.

  • In the year 2018, students are at present working on a project 'Heat transfer analysis through fins.' An extended part of any body is a fin, which helps to dissipate heat generated by the system may be due to motion or any other internal process.

  • In the year 2019, students have completed projects on

    • Mathematical modelling for Diabetes Mellitus: Students have collected glucose and insulin concentration of diabetic patients from different hospitals and applied in the diabetes mellitus mathematical model to predict whether a person has diabetes or not.

    • Thermal Performance of a Convection-Radiation Straight Fin under the Influence of Magnetic Field: Fins are broadly used in electronic circuits, vehicle engines and in other industrial components to intensity rate of heat transfer. In this project, students study the thermal performance of convective-radiative straight fin under the influence of uniform magnetic field.

    • Investigation on Temperature Distribution of Rectangular Fin under the Influence of Magnetic Field: Enhancement of heat transfer through fins is an attractive are due to it wide applications in industries and engineering fields such as economizers, superheaters, heat exchangers, etc. In this project, students study the temperature distribution of convective-radiative rectangular fin with the effect of uniform magnetic field.

    • Numerical Simulation on Heat and Mass Transfer of MHD Fluid Flow under Radiative Effect: In this project, students study the applications of heat and mass transfer in various fields of research and technology. Students have analysed the velocity, temperature and concentration fields for laminar ow in the case of pulsatile pressure gradient using finite difference technique and the results are depicted graphically.

    • Numerical Computation on Radiative MHD Fluid Flow between Parallel Plates through Porous Medium: Heat radiation plays an important role in numerous practical applications like space technology, process in engineering, etc. In this project, students study the velocity, temperature and concentration fields for the laminar ow in the case of linear pressure gradient using Thomas algorithm. The effect of pertinent parameters on the dimension less velocity, temperature and concentration fields can be observed graphically.

  • In the year 2020, students have completed projects on

    • Linear Algebra and its applications in Modern Science: In this project, students study applications of Linear algebra in various areas like: physics, traffic ow, food and nutrition, Economics and Dynamical systems.

    • Semi analytical investigation of heat transfer on hyperbolic annular fin: Fins are most commonly used in heat exchanging devices such as radiators in cars, computers CPU heat sinks, heat exchangers in power plant, etc. In this project, students have exposed to new tool namely “Differential transform method” which helps to solve both linear and non-linear differential equations. The temperature distribution through hyperbolic annular fin is analysed using differential transform method under the impact of magnetic field.

    • Temperature distribution of longitudinal porous fin using differential transform method: Fins are widely used to enhance the heat transfer rate between a hot surface and its surroundings uid. Fins are used in cooling of computer processors, refrigerators, air-cooled engines, oil carrying pipelines, etc. In this project, students have analyzed temperature field of longitudinal porous fin under the inuence of magnetic field using differential transform technique.

    • Mathematical Modelling for Garbage Collection in Jayanagar 5th Block using Floyd - Warshall Algorithm: In this project students have modelled Jayanagar 5th block as ‘Graphs,’ using which they have proposed an economic route and a manner to collect garbage using BBMP strategy and also, the obtained route is the optimized shortest route.
