HB1089/SB220 requires each local school board to designate a faculty member to serve as a special education parent/family liaison to serve as:
a resource to parents and families to understand and engage in the referral, evaluation, reevaluation, eligibility, and IEP process; and
a liaison to work in collaboration with the regional special education family support centers established by the Parent Training and Information Center (PEATC).
