When will Suitland High be completed?

Have any of the questions/concerns been addressed inside of the actual building from our last meeting with school staff?
Questions and concerns raised from the last town hall are being shared with and considered by the design team. The questions and concerns will also be discussed during the next project planning committee meeting.
Will Drew-Freeman share the swing space?
No. Drew-Freeman will be the only school program within Forestville High School at the time of their swing.
Will the students at Forestville HS now go back to their school once Drew students enter?
Yes. Central High School staff and students will return to their school this Fall.
Will construction jobs be offered to people that live in Suitland?
All Prince George's County residents will be able to apply for construction jobs.
Will the students go to school in the current Drew-Freeman building during the construction of the new building?
No. Drew-Freeman students will swing to the Forestville High School building during construction.
Where will the Suitland High School students go when their building is being updated?
Students will most likely stay on site during construction.
Just for clarification, Suitland students will not relocate?
Swing plans for Suitland High School students during construction are unknown at this time. However, with the phase style plan of the school's construction, it is likely that the students will stay onsite.
When is the next project planning committee meeting for the staff at Drew?
The next project planning committee meeting will be in April.

Will there be an outdoor track?
No.
Will the softball and baseball fields be built to meet MPSAA for high school to use? Currently, at least the softball field does not meet regulations. With the amount of rain in the Spring, being able to use the fields as alternative sites would be helpful.
The softball and baseball fields will be built to PGCPS' educational specifications.
Currently Central High School is located inside Forestville. With COVID the employees and staff from CHS are still there. How can you ensure a smooth transition for both schools?
Central High School and Drew-Freeman Middle School will not occupy Forestville High School at the same time. Central High School will move out prior to Drew-Freeman moving in.
Where will we teach the students while the new school is being built?
Drew-Freeman will move to Forestville High School from August 2021 - July 2023 while the new Drew-Freeman is being built.
Will there be walking access between Drew-Freeman MS & Suitland HS? When we were in person, I worked closely with teachers and students there (since most of our students attend there.)
Yes. The design teams for both Drew-Freeman and Suitland are coordinating walking access between the schools.
Are there any thoughts on keeping any sort of ""memories"" of the previous school? It was also previously La Reine HS.
We are working with the Project Planning Committee to determine how to honor the memory of the school and community.
Does the plan allow for the children to get more outdoor activities, how is this design different from the old one, what was the criteria for this design?
The courtyard is included at the rear of the school (the side facing Suitland High School) to allow for outdoor activities, learning, and dining.
Is Drew-Freeman still “flipped”?
Yes, the orientation of the school is flipped.
