Ilias Stentoumis ("Developer", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how it is processed, and how we protect your information in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR - Regulation (EU) 2016/679), Greek Law 4624/2019, Apple App Store Review Guidelines, and Google Play Developer Policies.

1. Data Controller

2. Personal Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum personal data required to provide and maintain the App:

A. Account Information

• Email Address & Display Name: Collected during email registration or retrieved via third-party OAuth providers (Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In).

• User Identifier (UID): A pseudonymous identifier generated by Firebase Authentication to associate your pet data with your account.

B. Pet & Schedule Data

• Pet Profiles: Name, species, breed, birth year, weight, microchip identification number, and UI color preferences.

• Reminders & Schedules: Reminder descriptions, dates, times, repetition intervals, and calendar entries.

• Documents & Photos: Photos of your pets and uploaded document attachments (e.g., vaccination records, blood tests in PDF or image format).

C. Device Permissions

• Camera: Used solely when you choose to take a photo of your pet or scan a microchip barcode. Live video is never recorded or transmitted.

• Photo Library / Storage: Used solely to let you select photos and documents to attach to your pet profiles.

• Notifications & Exact Alarms: Used solely to schedule and trigger local reminder alerts and alarms on your device.

D. Diagnostics & Crash Telemetry

• Firebase Crashlytics: Collects anonymized crash logs, device model information, OS versions, and performance diagnostics to help us fix bugs and improve app stability. This data contains no marketing identifiers and is never used for advertising or tracking.

3. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR Article 6)

We process personal data under the following legal bases:

1. Performance of a Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): To maintain your account, sync your pet records and documents, and deliver reminder services.

2. Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): For access to your device's Camera, Photo Library, and Push Notification permissions, which you can grant or revoke at any time in your device settings.

3. Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): To monitor app stability, fix crashes, and ensure system security via Crashlytics.

4. Third-Party Service Providers (Sub-Processors)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third parties or advertising networks. We share data only with technical infrastructure sub-processors:

Note on Local Notifications: Notification scheduling is executed locally on your device operating system via the Notifee framework and is not transmitted to external tracking networks.

5. International Data Transfers

Our cloud infrastructure (Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform) operates globally. Where personal data is processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA), transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

6. Data Retention & Account Deletion (Right to Erasure)

• Instant In-App Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly inside the App by navigating to Profile > Delete Account.

• Permanent Purge: Upon deletion, all account details, pet profiles, reminders, documents, and photos are immediately and permanently wiped from our Firebase servers and storage. We retain zero residual user data.

• Support Inquiries: If you experience any issues deleting your account inside the App, you may contact us at support@petminder.gr and we will assist you.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR

Under the GDPR and global privacy laws, you have the following rights:

• Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

• Right to Rectification: Edit or update inaccurate data directly inside the App.

• Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Permanently delete all your personal data.

• Right to Withdraw Consent: Revoke device permissions (Camera, Photos, Notifications) via your device settings at any time.

• Right to Lodge a Complaint: Lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority, such as the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA - www.dpa.gr), if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully.

8. Children's Privacy

Petminder is not directed to children under 16 years of age (or under 15 years in Greece pursuant to Greek Law 4624/2019). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without parental consent.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on our website with an updated "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
