Research Interest
My research interests focus on understanding the underpinnings of drug use and abuse, as well as the development of new pharmacological treatments using animal research models. With this goal in mind, during my PhD, I developed a novel model of voluntary ethanol intake associated with binge eating behavior in rats. Currently, I have joined Dr. Peters' lab at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) as a postdoctoral scholar to conduct research on the therapeutic potential of psychedelics for concurrent alcohol and heroin use in rodent models.
