The Peters Lab uses preclinical models of addiction along with systems neuroscience tools including optogenetics, chemogenetics, and in vivo fiber photometry, to interrogate neural circuit function. We also use slice electrophysiology to examine cellular and synaptic plasticity changes that underlie addiction with the goal of identifying novel treatment strategies.
