Moms with young children
As a mother of four boys, I know how important exercise is for maintaining energy and overall health. I have an area where children can play and watch tv while I motivate mom through her workout. The area is visible during the workout. I am glad to assist with the little ones so mom can exercise.
Q: What is the minimum required number of sessions to start training?
A: Minimum of 6 weeks of sessions – I require the purchase of a minimum of 6 weeks sessions and at least twice a week before purchasing sessions in smaller packages or limiting their training to only once a week. This minimum six-week commitment allows you to build sustainable habits, learn proper technique, and gain enough progress to see measurable strength and body composition results. If you want to continue training with me after the 6 weeks I require at least one exercise training session per week so you can continue on your journey to adhering to your exercise program.
Q: How early can I arrive before my session?
A: Please enter the exercise studio no more than 5 minutes prior to your scheduled start time because another client may be finishing their workout. I will always leave at least five minutes between a client’s workout completion and the next client’s start time. You are welcome to start warming up for up to five minutes prior to your session start time. Please be ready to exercise at the start time of your session.
Q: Where can I find your information?
A: You can find all information here on this site and you can also find me on Facebook under the name “Perseverance Exercise Training with Michelle Miller”.
Q: What is my first step for starting personal training sessions?
A: Please email me your contact information (name and phone #) and that you are interested in personal training at Getfitmmiller@gmail.com to either schedule a visit to the exercise studio or set up a day to begin training. I will give you a call at my earliest convenience.
Q: How do I schedule my training sessions?
A: We can set up the session times at your free consultation visit, by phone or email.
Q: How long is a training session?
A: You can choose either a 45-minute session or 55-minute session.
Q: Can I work out with my husband or a friend?
A: Yes! I encourage joint workouts. One on one sessions are only for women, but women can work out with their husband, fiancé, or female friend. The fee is slightly higher for two people working out together.
Q: If we chose Couple/Friend training, do we both need to be present to count as one paid training session?
A: If you or your husband or female friend cannot train with you that day we are happy to train you at a reduced price..
Q: What do I need to bring to work out?
A: A great attitude! I also recommend athletic shoes and clothing that will allow you to move around comfortably. There will be water and a gym towel provided for your convenience.
Q: Where will I train?
A: At my compact exercise studio detached and adjacent to my home. The training equipment includes a functional trainer, squat rack, Olympic weights, dumbbells, resistance bands, elliptical, leg curl/extension machine, rogue echo bike, treadmill, weight sled, turf training area, and a private restroom. Check out the studio pictures on the page.
Q: What days and times can I do a training session?
A: That will depend upon my availability when you become a client. I work Monday through Friday. On Monday through Friday, I am available to train from 6:30 a.m. to7:30 a.m., then 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with breaks to pick up and take my kids to school. On Friday, I am available from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. then 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Q: What if I am running late?
A: We get it. Life happens. If you show up late, we will do our best to help you get the most out of your scheduled remaining time.
Q: What if I need to miss a session?
A: If you are going to miss a session please give me a 24 hour notice if possible. I ask that you try not to cancel more than once a month because that time is reserved for you. However, I understand sicknesses or other expected circumstances occur. If a session must be canceled due to sickness or other unexpected circumstances, we can attempt to reschedule at a time that works for you.
Q: How far in advance do I need to schedule my workouts?
A: I recommend making all your workout appointments before you start training (usually done at the consultation), however if your schedule changes due to work or other reasons schedule at least one week in advance is preferred so you will have a secure day and time.
Q: I have not been exercising for a long time, how does this affect my training?
A: All exercise programs are created based on the fitness level of the clients, age, and personal goals. Exercise is good for beginners and all fitness levels.
Q: How often should I exercise?
A: How often you should exercise depends on your goals, current fitness level, activity level, and other personal factors. A good general guideline is around 150 minutes of moderate activity (i.e. 30 minutes, 5 days a week). You should break a sweat but still be able to carry on a conversation, but I will make recommendations based on your individual needs and circumstances.
Q: Do you have a shower?
A: No, at this time, I have a restroom, sink, and a bench in the bathroom studio.
Q: Can I use the exercise studio to train at times outside my scheduled training session?
A: No, sorry, I only offer private training sessions at the exercise studio.
Q: Is there a gym fee or start-up fee?
A: No there is no gym or start-up fee.
Q: What is measuring my Body Composition with Skin Fold Calipers and is it beneficial for me?
A: Measuring body fat with skinfold calipers is important because it helps estimate your body fat percentage, which can give you a clearer picture of your body composition than weight alone. The scale cannot tell the difference between fat, muscle, or water, but skinfold measurements can help track changes in fat loss and muscle gain over time. This information allows me to create a more effective fitness plan based on your goals to help monitor progress and make adjustments when needed. You do not need to participate in this, but it is available if you wish to use it. This can be done during your initial assessment, and we will need to retest during your training time at a later date to track your progress. If you want to do this outside of your training session, we will need to make an appointment and there will be small fee ($15).
