About Us
The Perkins Music Studio mission is to help connect children to their musical and educational potential, connect families, and connect the community through sharing joyful musical moments. This studio is based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and is run by Rachel Perkins (or Ms Rachel). We are located off Barfield Road between New Salem Highway and Veterans.
Who is Ms Rachel?
Music has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I sang a solo in church when I was four years old! I am passionate about engaging students in musical development from an early age and have seen the benefits of music on my mind and soul throughout my life. Most of all, I love to laugh and have fun!
I hold a Bachelor of Music Education and Vocal Performance from the University of Utah. I taught middle school choir and theatre for nine years in both Utah and Indiana and have taught primary-aged children at church and in the community since I was a teenager. I enjoy traveling and wish I could live in Disneyland! The beach is my happy place.
My greatest loves, however, are my husband Will and children Audrey, Carter, Fae, and Ruby!
Affiliations
Ms. Rachel is a licensed teacher of Let's Play Music and Sound Beginnings. She is fully trained on all three years of the curriculum and participates in yearly teacher training to continue to refine her teaching craft. She is the Cyber Circle Director for the satellite Let's Play Music teachers across the United States.
Ms. Rachel is also connected with Kids Corner of Murfreesboro LLC. Perkins Music Studio provides an additional opportunity in the community for children ages 0-6 by providing music classes weekly.
