1. Product Distribution: We have distributed over 30,000 menstrual products, including pads, tampons, liners, menstrual cups, and period underwear, to those in need.
2. Educational Workshops: We conduct free reusable cloth pad sewing workshops for students, empowering them with sustainable menstrual solutions.
3. Campus Initiatives: Free period product baskets have been established in gender-inclusive washrooms across campuses in Newfoundland and Labrador, ensuring accessible menstrual care for all students.
4. Period Positivity Podcast: Our Spotify Period Positivity Podcast features insightful episodes on topics such as endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, menstruation as a plus-size woman, and period poverty in Indigenous communities.
5. School Presentations: We offer educational presentations on period poverty and menstrual equity in schools, fostering awareness and understanding among students.
6. Digital Resource Bank: A free digital resource bank comprising presentations and menstrual health handbooks is available, contributing to the dissemination of essential knowledge on menstrual health.
- City of St. John's Policy: Through formal correspondence and advocacy by Leisha Toory, the City of St. John's approved a policy mandating free access to period products within all city-owned public buildings. This pioneering step marks the first such implementation in the entire province.
- Published Papers: Our commitment to advocacy is further demonstrated through over 15 published papers on period poverty, period stigma, and menstrual policies in both local and national publications.
- Human Rights Award Nomination: The Period Priority Project has been nominated for the prestigious Human Rights Award 2022, recognizing our significant contributions to menstrual equity.
