How can we save resources?
How can we wear a suit that lasts several seasons?
Wouldn't it be great if children's clothes were airy when they sweat?
Several videos that can be explored by the teacher as a source of information:
Floating flowers
Material required:
Paper
Scissors
Bowl of water
Paper is made of pressed fibres. When paper absorbs water the fibres expand and in this way the paper flower is forced to open its petals.
Investigate whether different types of paper and whether different shapes of petals influence the time it takes for the paper flower to open.
Use paper of different weights, more or less absorbent.
Use a plastic sheet (or plastic bag) to make a flower and see if it opens in water.
Look at the materials used for the flowers under the microscope.
