Rodney O’Dell founded the Peralta Cup in 2004.

A very special thank you to Susan Grandt, who for many many years provided the trophies for the Peralta Cup. She acquired the parts, hand-cleaned, and hand-built each and every trophy. We are indebted to her and the many hours she donated to this race. Thank you Sue!

Thank you Eric Runge for opening up the Montera Middle School wood shop to all packs in the Peralta district and supporting cubs in building their own pinewood derby cars.

We also thank Darren Revaneau for capturing beautiful photographs of our recent race in 2018.

A special thank you to local race legends (circa 1970-1990s) Jim and Barbara Barton, who raced both motorcycles and cars at many local tracks, including Sears Point and Laguna Seca to name a few, for presenting to the scouts and sharing photos and memorability. 

Thank you Jerry Blazek for designing an official logo for the Peralta Cup, which was designed in 2019 and includes the Bay Bridge and a vintage pinewood derby car.
