As Vice President of the Criminal Justice Honor Society (Alpha Phi Sigma), I was responsible for leading and supporting the society's mission to promote scholarship, leadership, and service in the field of criminal justice. In this role, I was able to engage with my peers and the community to create events and initiatives that fostered a deeper understanding of the criminal justice system and its impact on society. I also had the opportunity to connect with professionals in the field and gain valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Being Vice President allowed me to serve as an advocate for my fellow students and the wider community, and I am proud of the positive impact we were able to make together.
In my role as a Cyber 9/12 Timekeeper, I was entrusted with the crucial responsibility of ensuring that all the participating contestants were thoroughly prepared for their briefings. This involved coordinating with the judges to ensure that all necessary arrangements were in place and everything was situated perfectly. Throughout the duration of the briefing, I kept a watchful eye on the clock and provided timely reminders to the contestants about the remaining time. Additionally, I assisted some of the judges when required, utilizing my knowledge and expertise to ensure that the entire event proceeded smoothly and efficiently.
Recently, I attended a conference and came back with an armful of awards for my team at FIU. Out of the four awards, one was particularly special as I received the Student Member Achievement Award for my outstanding service and impact in the field. But that's not all! I was also recognized with the Social Media Proficiency Award for taking care of all the social media outlets. It was such a phenomenal feeling to be acknowledged for my efforts. And to top it off, we tied for second place in the T-Shirt award category and won the Outstanding Goal Award for Service. I couldn't be prouder of my team and all that we have accomplished!
I had the pleasure of volunteering for Crime Stoppers, an organization dedicated to promoting public safety and crime prevention. During my time there, I had the opportunity to meet the executive director and assist with various tasks, including organizing and cleaning up their office and closet space. In addition, I had the chance to interact with some of the dedicated deputies who work in the office, learning about their experiences and the important role they play in keeping our communities safe.
