7th/8th Grade

Students in seventh and eighth grade orchestra continue to have one weekly 13-minute individual lesson. Each grade rehearses individually twice a week, and on Wednesdays both grades rehearse together.

In addition to their four concerts (which are usually held in October, December, March, and May), each seventh and eighth grade orchestra student participates in a spring solo recital on a Saturday in April. This gives the students an opportunity to work with an accompanist, experience solo performance, and grow as musicians.

In the past, we have provided opportunities for the students to play in local assisted living or nursing homes in the Pella area, which has been rewarding for both students and residents.
