Thoughts and Prayers for
the Krueger Family
Ralph Krueger passed away on Friday morning (December 16th) peacefully and with his family by his side.
Ralph had been ill for several weeks and a combination of ailments finally took their toll. (Information regarding his illness was not more widespread at the request of his family.)
Here is the link to his obituary and funeral arrangements:
While any loss from the Pelican family is difficult, I - along with many others - find this one particularly tough.
Ralph always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
He was a favorite golf partner for more reasons than just the extra peanut butter and jelly sandwich he always had on hand for you as you made the turn.
It was impossible to get mad at Ralph, even when he was playing cribbage so loudly in the Pel House that the office staff was forced to close their door.
Even at 80 he prioritized service to others. One of the last times I spoke to Ralph - just a week before he went into the hospital - he was on his way to Madison to deliver eye tissue for a transplant. If not that, he was baking the hundreds of dozens of cookies he donated to others each year. Or perhaps delivering meals on wheels.
I feel incredibly blessed to have had him as a friend for the past several years, and will miss him deeply.
It is people like Ralph that can make one experience the joy and sadness that being a member of the Pelican family can bring.
His is truly a life to celebrate.
