There are four golfers on this card. However, Hooper (skillful but skittish) has been struggling of late and rather than risk one of his precious Loonies he has elected not to participate in the skins game. It is very important that non-participants scores not be factored in, so do whatever is needed to exclude them, such as lining through their score or not including them on the skins card to begin with.
Hole #1: Swanson misses his eagle putt but taps in for a birdie and a potential skin. His low score is recorded on a separate line and circled to indicate that no other golfer in the group had the same score.
Hole #2: There were multiple 4s as low score. There is no potential from within this group. However, we still need to record the low score for that hole so it can be used to compare against other potential skins from other groups.
Hole #3: Hooper has low score, but since he was saving his money to take Bev to dinner that number is of no consequence. The low score for skins purposes is a 4. (If you mistakenly include a non-participants low score on the card it can cost someone else a skin.)
Hole #4: Swanson again birdies. While Hooper matches his score, the skinflint is again out of luck and a circled 3 is entered at the bottom to indicate that it is not only low number for the hole, but a potential skin since no other participating golfer was able to match his skill on this hole.
From here it is more of the same, but worth noting that Swanson's eagle on the 7th hole was a beautiful chip in from 45 yards out. At the same time Frawley's birdie was a three foot putt following a shot that he clearly rolled out of a hazard.
