It was designed following the WebQuest format proposed by Abdallah (2021) and Yavelberg (2015). Afterwards, in order to detail the specific instructions for every lesson, a “Warmer, Web, What’s next” model was followed, as suggested by Dudeney & Hockly (2007).
Theme: My Dream City
Age group & language level: 15-year-old, B1-level students, state-run school
Time frame: 4 lessons, each lesson 40 minutes long
Objectives:
By the end of the unit, students will be able to:
Research and summarize key aspects of different real cities (geography, culture, architecture, and sustainability).
Use vocabulary and grammar related to urban life, travel, and environmental issues.
Design and describe an ideal city creatively and collaboratively using digital tools.
Present their Dream City orally and visually to their peers.
Reflect on sustainability and innovation when imagining future cities.
