In my experience of the 3D world, I have had to opportunity to work on a multitude of projects where I have been able to use Autodesk Maya, Houdini, Blender to do lighting and NukeX to do compositing.

FILM STUDIES
REFERENCE
For this lighting study I looked at a real movie reference (Coco), and analysed the behaviour of the lights and mood and matched them to my own shot
REFERENCE
"Match movie"
For the lighting on the left, I focused my studies on specifically, character lighting in movies, in this case, "Inside out".
My main goal/priority for this study was to be able to match my character in the environment.
NOIR STUDY
For this study I focused on having 4 shots correlate to eachother as they tell a full story. Using an Establishing shot, Key shot, Production and an Unique.
KEY
Focusing on contrast is a big part of noir and something I had to pay attention to. Here the priorty was to make the exterior lighting guide the viewers's eyes to the right areas of the shot
UNIQUE
For a unique shot I have more liberty in the lighting, as it does not have to correlate as much as the other shots. So in this case I explored using the car headlights to create a lot of contrast and have amain source of light
PROD
The Prod has to follow the lighting from the key, therfore I had to make them match as well as possible and still make both shots work well.
ESTABLISHING
The establishing shot will be the shot that guides the lighting of the environemtns of the shot. Here is where I make the viewer realist the main source of lighting will be the headlight of the car
Character Lightings
Moving study
For this lighting study I looked into lighting a scene with dynamic movements. This way I get an idea on how to light both a character and an environment, while they are both in movement.
HALCYON
This is one of the first shots of the project "Halcyon". For this shot, I needed to make sure the audience will understand what character is in the shot and what they are doing. So I focused on having a good readiblity of the character by using shadows, and with the way I animated this lighting, I make sure that the audience understands that a door is being opened.
O Paraíso
These are some work in progress lighting that I am working on for the Teaser "O Paraíso"
