The People's Early Childhood Coalition is a coalition of educators, families, academics, and community organizations in New York City working together to strengthen early childhood education as a public good—one that centers children’s brilliance, honors their languages, cultures, and communities, and affirms the people who care for and teach them.
We believe lasting change emerges through collaboration, when policy, practice, and professional learning are shaped with communities rather than imposed upon them.
Our work is grounded in a policy vision for a just and inclusive early childhood education system in New York City, articulated in our Blueprint for a Just and Inclusive Early Childhood Education System in New York City.
The Blueprint outlines priorities for universal access, workforce pay equity, system integration from birth to age five, curricular autonomy, and protections for immigrant and undocumented families.
