Kim's desire to share, instruct and give back began at Chico State during her Broadcast News studies when a guest speaker complained about the industry and low salary, advising the class to find another career. That bothered Kim. She was always fascinated by broadcasting and wanted to be inspired - not demoralized- by instructors.
Not until she began working in Knoxville, TN did she take the next step when she discovered that higher education ( a Master's Degree) would be paid for by her company. Between 1993-1997 she earned a Broadcast Management Masters degree - while working full time as a news anchor at WBIR . Kim helped to guest lecture at University of Tennessee but marriage, motherhood and news career put teaching on the back burner for a while.
In July, 2015, she was asked to teach Broadcast News Writing at California State University, Fresno while working full time as a morning news anchor at KMPH. The time was right and the rest, they say, is history.
